Desk Back

One of my patients coined the phrase, "desk back" to indicate the pain one can experience between the shoulder blades from prolonged periods of time sitting at a desk during work. This all too common discomfort is not too dissimilar from carpal tunnel syndrome. It is an over-use aggravation. Have you ever had neck pain from holding the phone with your shoulder while doing the dishes? Any time you force your body into an un-natural position for a prolonged amount of time, your body will experience discomfort. If the amount of time is long enough it can cause stress to the point of muscles cramping and joints being pulled out of alignment. When joints become misaligned, nerves become irritated and then muscles again become tense, which can pull on the joints further. This repeats the negative cycle. My patient is an attorney and he knows when his back begins to go through these common misfortunes. Chiropractic is the best way to set things right. An experienced chiropractor can find the joints that are misaligned and correct their position and movement with a gentle chiropractic adjustment. Adjustments are safe and do NOT hurt. "Desk back" is not going to get better on its own. See a chiropractor today. If you live in Tampa and need more information, call (813) 831-8321 or go to http://tampa.chiropractor-edelson.com
